In this digital age dominated by recurring charges and the endless march of monthly fees, we have made the counter-cultural move to ditch subscriptions for good. This is a significant shift in our business model: all our applications, that previously required annual subscriptions, will now be available for a single, one-time purchase, granting our users a lifetime license.

For years, the software industry has been on a seemingly irreversible trajectory towards the subscription model. The allure for companies is clear: predictable, recurring revenue streams that foster stability and facilitate continuous development. For customers, the promise has often been lower initial cost and the guarantee of always having the latest version with ongoing support and updates.

However, the tide of public opinion has been subtly turning. The cumulative weight of multiple subscriptions - for streaming services, news outlets, productivity tools, and more - has led to a phenomenon widely dubbed "subscription fatigue." Users are increasingly feeling the pinch of these accumulating costs and yearning for a sense of ownership over the software they rely on.

With this in mind, we have made the decision to move to a lifetime license model. While the subscription model offered certain advantages, we believe it created a barrier to entry for some and, more importantly, fostered a feeling of never truly owning the tools you depend on. We want to empower our users and give them the confidence that when they purchase a Marceda product, it's theirs to keep and use indefinitely.

For our customers, we believe this approach will bring the following benefits:

  • True Ownership: Users will own a license to the software version they purchase, free from the worry of losing access if they stop paying a recurring fee.
  • Simplicity: No more managing ongoing subscriptions, potential price increases, or payment failures. A single transaction grants lifetime access.
  • Budget Predictability: Users can factor in a one-time software purchase into their budget without the uncertainty of ongoing monthly expenses.
